Construction machinery industry still maintain boom trend?
It is understood that the impact of covid-19 on construction machinery is no more than two aspects, the demand side and the supply side.
On the demand side, the purchase of construction machinery decreased in the first quarter, mainly due to the delay in the commencement of construction projects. For large enterprise customers, the procurement plan of construction machinery is based on the size of the orders in hand and the annual construction quantity. At most, the delivery time is changed, and the purchase scale will not be greatly reduced due to the epidemic. For the self-employed, the delay in the commencement of the project may affect their cash flow income, so they have to temporarily cancel or postpone the procurement plan. In general, demand has temporarily been somewhat suppressed.
On the supply side, the impact of this may be greater than the demand side, because the first quarter is the quarter with the highest capacity utilization rate of construction machinery. However, due to the influence of covid-19, the whole industrial chain of construction machinery from the whole machine to spare parts may face the problems of limited operation and shortage of manpower. As demand is suppressed at the same time, the contradiction between supply and demand is not yet apparent. When the outbreak eases, the contradiction will emerge, and there may be a temporary shortage of supplies.
Therefore, based on the above, it can be seen that the impact of covid-19 outbreak on construction machinery resulted in the postponing of the peak season. However, it should be noted that although the peak season will be late, it will not be absent.
